Just wanted to share this for anyone ordering from johnnywas.com and worrying about returns. I had to send back one item because the fit wasn’t right, and I expected the refund to drag on for a while. Surprisingly, it hit my account just a few days after they received the return. I didn’t have to chase anyone or send a bunch of follow-up emails. So if you’re nervous about the refund process, my experience was actually smooth and quick.

I do really like that Johnny Was has a look you don’t see everywhere. Compared to a lot of brands I usually shop, their prints and embroidery feel way more special, and some pieces look like something you’d find in a little boutique while traveling.

That said, not everything works for me once I actually picture wearing it. Some of the designs are a bit busier than what I normally reach for, and I’ve noticed a few things look gorgeous online but feel harder to style in real life.

Overall, I think it’s a great place to look if you want something different from the usual basics. For me, though, I’d be picky about what I buy because at these prices, I’d want to be sure it’s something I’d really wear a lot.

Customer service did help me in the end, so I’ll give them credit for that. But the replies were slow, like really slow, and it got a little frustrating waiting around. When they finally answered, it kind of felt rushed too, like they were trying to get through it quickly. They helped, but the slow replies and the rushed responses made the whole thing more annoying than it needed to be

I was excited when I ordered this because the photos made it look really nice, and the color/style were basically what I was hoping for. Shipping was fine and it looked cute when I first took it out of the package, so at first I thought it was going to be a win. After trying it on for a bit though, I started noticing the fabric more than anything else. It just didn’t feel very soft on my skin, kind of rough and a little stiff. For the price, I guess I expected it to feel a lot nicer and more comfortable than it did.
